Contact and Request Help

Describe what your walk-in cooler or freezer is doing and send it to a technician. A few specific details make the first answer more useful.

Tell us what the walk-in is doing. The more specific you are, the faster a technician can tell whether it is a quick fix or a service call.

Give a phone number or email so we can reach you. Do not send card numbers or passwords.

What to include in your request

  • What kind of walk-in it is. A cooler or a freezer, and roughly how big. A restaurant box, a store cooler, a church kitchen, a home cold room or a hunting cooler all help the technician picture it.
  • The temperature it reads. Use the door thermometer or the controller, and say which one you read.
  • What the fans are doing. Running, stopped, or noisy. Running fans over a warm box point to a different cause than dead fans.
  • Whether the outdoor unit runs. If you can safely see it, say whether the compressor and fans are on.
  • Any ice. Ice on the coil, on the floor or around the door is one of the most useful details you can give.
  • When it started. Suddenly, over a few days, or after a storm or power blip.

If food is at risk right now

Keep the door shut so the box holds its temperature as long as possible, and write down the time and the reading. If the box has been above 41 degrees for a while, read the food-safety guide before deciding what to keep.

While you wait

Three quick checks can narrow the problem before anyone arrives. They are listed in the troubleshooting guide, and none of them needs you to open a panel.

Please do not

Open electrical panels, touch capacitors, or loosen refrigerant fittings. Those jobs are for a qualified technician.
